The Pope François conduct a pastoral visit in 2015 in France, to Paris and Lourdes, said Monday the Catholic daily Cross website , citing “reliable sources in the Vatican.” The pontiff will visit earlier in Strasbourg on 25 November, but the official one-day visit to the European Parliament will not involve step specifically French. When asked, Father Federico Lombardi, Vatican spokesman, said he had “no comment” to make on the subject Monday. According to The Cross , “the official announcement of this trip to France could take place Tuesday, October 7,” along with the presentation of the calendar papal trip to Strasbourg. Pope Francis was invited to France by President Francois Hollande during his visit to the Vatican on January 21. According to the news agency specializing in the i.media Vatican, the Pope’s visit to the French capital and the Marian city “could take place in spring or fall 2015.” It would be the 10th visit of a pope in France according to this source, if you count a short stage of John Paul II at the Meeting in 1989, when he went to Madagascar. Benedict had come once in France, in 2008, already in Paris and Lourdes.
