A man fell from the seventh floor of its building early Tuesday morning in Grenoble trying to escape the police leading a vast operation of arrests suspected robbers, noted journalists. Seven suspects were arrested in total, the most active of the band, according to a source close to the investigation. Two individuals were still sought Tuesday morning. During the arrests, a prime suspect fell from a building in the sensitive area of Villeneuve, taking to escape the police. Seriously injured, he was transported to Grenoble hospital “in a polytrauma condition,” according to firefighters. Other arrests took place in the neighboring towns to Meylan and Échirolles and sensitive areas of Mistral and Teisseire in Grenoble. They were conducted as part of a judicial investigation opened by the prosecutor of Grenoble. Many officers of the judicial police, Raid, IFNU (intervention group of the National Police) and research and intervention brigade (BRI) Lyon participated in the operation. The suspects would be part of a group that committed in recent months most armed robberies in the Grenoble area, in banks, jewelry stores, gas stations or various shops. The searches were continuing Tuesday morning. Weapons, stolen vehicles and objects from armed robbery were seized by police.
