Third incident in less than a week in the tunnel … – TF1

The concerns are continuing in the Channel Tunnel. After a fire early Saturday in a truck transported by a shuttle and a Sunday catenary problem is a breach of catenary heavily disrupted traffic shuttles (cars and trucks) in both directions and traffic trains Eurostar . The incident “is due to a catenary disjunction. The work we started going to take longer than expected,” he told AFP a spokesman for Eurotunnel.

“Traffic continues to operate, it is not 100% but it works, there’s nothing to be alarmed,” he added. In the morning, “there were 60 minute wait at the Eurotunnel passenger shuttles,” he said at midday. No hours of back to normal has however been clarified. “Delays of about an hour now affect all Eurostar services following power supply problems,” his side Eurostar announced on his Twitter account before announcing the cancellation of four trains.

Traffic on one lane

“There was again a problem with the power supply in the Channel Tunnel this morning, which therefore leads North tunnel closed again. We are on a single lane traffic (against the usual two), resulting in delays of about 60 minutes for the Eurostar “, told AFP a spokesman for Eurostar. “In order to minimize delays for our travelers, we had to revise our transportation plan and proceed with the cancellation of the four trains,” she added.

A London-Paris, a Paris-London, a London-Brussels and London-Brussels have been deleted. The company has however ensured that passengers provided on these canceled trains would be offered alternative solutions so they can reach their destination today via Eurostar.
