Minister of Ecology said Friday the establishment of alternating traffic in Paris from Monday, provided the pollution has not decreased during the weekend.

“On Monday, there will be alternating traffic unless there is a clear decline in pollution tomorrow (Saturday) and day after tomorrow (Sunday), “she said during a press briefing.

Ségolène Royal also reported free transport from this Saturday in Paris, confirming the statement made earlier by the president of the Ile-de-France region

Public transport will be free in the Ile-de-France Saturday because of persistent pollution peak, said Friday Jean-Paul Huchon in a statement.

“As part of the episode of PM10 pollution, rampant especially in our region for several days (…) I asked the transport operators SNCF, RATP and OPTILE implement tomorrow free transport on their respective networks in Ile out-of-France, “said Jean-Paul Huchon (PS), also Chairman of the STIF, the organizing authority of the Paris transport.

” With this episode of exceptional pollution, I renew my invitation to the Parisians not to take their vehicles if they have to move, and to give priority to public transport, “says Jean-Paul Huchon.

The Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo had again asked Friday setting instead of alternating cireculation for this Saturday in the capital.
