The elections of the Socialist Party are organizing gradually. Friday, April 10, various motions were filed. At least four competing motions will vote activists 21 and 28 May next in seen to elect the next national secretary of the party. A fifth can be put on the table in case of disagreement with that proposed by the current secretary, Jean-Christophe Cambadélis by the pole of the “reformers” gathered around the Mayor of Lyon Gerard Collomb. The Congress will ratify the votes on 5, 6 and 7 June in Poitiers.
Aubry and Cambadélis on the same line
This was one of the questions about this election. Martine Aubry has finally announced that it would sign the motion of Jean-Christophe Cambadélis, confirming a report RTL . A motion defined “majority-vocation”, supported by the government, and “ prepared jointly ,” the mayor of Lille.
Text that will include the proposed a “ popular new alliance ” with other left formations, “with all those who will agree on the country’s reform orientation in justice,” according to Cambadélis who hears ” exceed the traditional alliance Plural Left, an alliance of devices. “
Three other proposed programs
Other text was further refined in the night from Friday to Saturday: the currents of the left and “ slingers ” of Cheers left , led by the deputy of the Nièvre Christian Paul, a former close Martine Aubry. This motion will require “ strong inflections to try to save the five-year ” with short-term measures for “the most disadvantaged, housing, territorial balance,” according to MEP Guillaume Balas close to Benoît Hamon. The text also wants to do away with “strict allegiance” of the ruling party.
The motion called “La Fabrique” , which is the first signatory of the member Hautes-Alpes Karine Berger, national secretary of the PS for the Economy, is defined as the text of the “non-aligned” and refuses the confrontation between “blocks”.
Finally, a ‘militant’ motion , taken by a national secretary, Florence Augier, was also filed.
A fifth competitor motion?
There remained a question Friday night. The division of the “reformers” , right wing of the party, gathered around the mayor of Lyon Gérard Collomb , pleads including flexible labor market and vocational training. He was surprised that some points “contrary to government policy” are found in the text of the first current secretary. “I hope there will be rectified Saturday, said Mr Collomb, otherwise we have written texts that can be used with a motion.” “We’ll see on Saturday morning it seems to suit us or if a sudden change of line,” he warned.
The majority camp have no doubt that Mr. Cambadélis , elected in April 2014 by the parliament only the party but not by militants, will win . But the “rebellious” and the left wing believe “possible” a new majority. “Their goal is not to fight but to make us fall below 50%,” think I know a tenor in the majority oriented motion. On May 28, activists will decide between the two motions led the way May 21 and the first signatory of the majority motion will be the first secretary .
