Manuel Valls presented this Friday, April 17 in Créteil (Val-de- Marne) the struggle of the governing plan against racism and anti-Semitism. He chose a high school in this multicultural city, home to the largest Jewish community in the Paris region. “Racism, anti-Semitism, hatred of Muslims, foreigners, homophobia increase unbearably. It was urgent to move from indignation (…) to action” , said the Prime Minister.
He promises a budget of € 100 million over three years to the fight against racism. The plan provides for the strengthening of repression for all crimes and racist crimes that are now under criminal law. Pedagogy side, emergency response teams will be set up in schools where crisis. In the digital domain, a national unity fight against illegal content will be created. “For it to work, there must be a maximum of acceding to our citizens” , says Alain Jakubowicz, President of the lycra, which recognizes a battery of positive measures.
