Train Traffic is very disturbed that Saturday morning between Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine) and Paris. A “person was struck” by a TGV in the outskirts of Rennes, according to SNCF.
The accident occurred at 7:00, up to the Palais des Sports Cesson-Sevigne, reports “Ouest France”. The victim, aged 60, has died.
Some delays ranging from 30 minutes to 3 hours are anticipated for at least six passenger trains, TGV or TER, crowded at the Easter weekend.
In Paris, Gare Montparnasse train from Rennes and is thus expected at 10:25 already announced with 1:45 delay, the one from Brest, under 9:19, and normally through Rennes, with 2 hours late. In Rennes railway station, the 9:20 train to Brest is announced with at least delay 1:15; even late for the 9:16 train from Paris.
The SNCF counts on a return to normal in the morning. Meanwhile, some TER are replaced by buses and three hijacked by TGV Nantes (Loire-Atlantique).
The SNCF did not say whether the person was pulled accidentally by TGV or it is a suicide.
