They were in civilian clothes and off but two military were assaulted Saturday afternoon by a score of people on the margins of the event Paris to the lifting of the state of emergency, according to a police source.
The investigation will particularly seek to determine if they were targeted because of their military status, or if they could be mistaken for militants of extreme right, a source close to the investigation.
A soldier slightly wounded
The attackers were dressed in black, masked and hooded, according to police headquarters . One of the two soldiers was wounded in the eyebrow and treated on site by firefighters. The phone of one of the two soldiers, mobilized in Paris as part of Vigipirate, was also stolen. The attackers managed to flee.
In a statement, Wallerand de Saint Just (National Front) denounced the assault , seeing it an act of “terrorism of the extreme left most stupid and most violent. ”
