Attackers on a motorbike and a burst of Kalashnikov. A man in his twenties was killed Monday night in northern Marseille. “The procedure looks like a settling of accounts” but the victim, who succumbed after his transfer to the hospital, was not known to police, nor for serious crimes or drug trafficking, said the police source.
According to the first elements of the investigation, the victim was targeted to 9:00 p.m. while she was on foot near a snack from the city of the Mail, in the 14th district from the city. The man “was still breathing when transferred to hospital”, but later died, said the deputy prosecutor of the Republic Dominique Auter, who visited the scene.
In an attempt to find the perpetrators of the murder investigation was entrusted to the judicial police in Marseille. She directs a priori to a settling of accounts, although the motive has yet to be firmly established. The identity of the victim must also be confirmed.
Decline in crime, not homicidal
At least three dead in the settling of scores have been recorded since the beginning of the year in Marseille: a man was killed in mid-January Kalashnikovs under a bridge of the 3rd arrondissement, and two others in the parking lot of the shopping center of the city in early February.
In general, in Marseille and the Bouches-du-Rhône, almost all types of crime fell last year, sometimes very significantly. The number of homicides, however, increased slightly.
