After Google, it’s time for Apple to send cars crisscross France to enrich its mapping application, Plans. The vehicles are loaded Apple photographing cities, including Paris and they arpenteront municipalities of Hauts-de-Seine, Val-de-Marne and Seine-Saint-Denis in August, it said on the site of the company.
Apple cars were seen for the first time in the US in February. The cameras clad vehicles were then spotted in San Francisco and New York. Today, France is the fourth country to see land these cars, after the United States, the United Kingdom and Ireland. According to the dedicated page on the Apple site, Sweden will also be affected from 1 st of August.
Apple follows the road and Google Maps, whose cars criss long roads worldwide. The areas covered by its Street View service, which allows to move virtually in the streets, continue to expand. Apple, meanwhile, has not yet a 3D aerial photography depending on larger cities called “Flyover”.
