VIDEO – Members of the community of Travellers were appearing Friday in Amiens for the sacking of the A1 end of August. The sentences ranged from four months to 18 months in prison. All were also sentenced to 1,000 euros fine.

At the deliberate statement Friday afternoon, six of the twelve defendants were absent because they feared heavy sentences. Earlier in the morning, requisitions were severe against ten of the twelve members of the community of travelers. “When there is the prison, there are still too many prison, but it is a decision of appeasement,” responded Mr. Jerome Crépin, board of three of the defendants. Two people were sentenced to 18 months imprisonment, two to 24 months, including 12 firm, four to six months and two farm to farm 4 months. All were also sentenced to 1,000 euros fine by the Criminal Court of Amiens. Two acquittals were handed down.
Judged since Thursday, these individuals met a tough operation on the A1 in August at the town Royes in the Somme. Sentences of one year, six months suspended for three years firm with custody at the bar had been claimed against ten of these twelve men.
With passion and for nearly an hour, the prosecutor had requested Emmanuelle Puyobrau Friday morning heavier sentences: three years firm with custody for three of the twelve defendants, including two three-year farm for two among them, a strong year for another one year and six months for the firm four. She also claimed 5,000 euros fine for each of them, and relaxed for only two of the defendants. After enlarging images requested by defense lawyers, it appeared that they did not match the men who appeared in photographs taken during the violence evening. The prosecutor reminded the meaning of this action occurred on 28 August, where for 14 hours, roadblocks had been erected on this axis overloaded with tires, discarded trees in fires lit in both directions of traffic. According to the representative prosecutors, this blocking evening was to twist the arm of justice.
