This mom came to visit the circus menagerie Celine Zavatta which halted in the famous Haute-Savoie station in the parking lot of the Sports Palace. The incident occurred in the late morning, she and her children watched the camel in its pen. “We were not trying to feed him, or trying to pet him,” says the young woman in her thirties, who placed her child in a baby carrier strapped to her belly. Hearing her scream, municipal police patrolling nearby then intervened and warned the rescue.

Five days after the incident, the infant is still hospitalized at the Hospital of Grenoble (Isère). His prognosis is not engaged and according to the mother, the child “suffered multiple fractures” but “should not have sequels.” Parents of infants have filed a complaint, said the police. An investigation was opened and hearings were held.
