Clichy-la-Garenne, it’s the end of decades of socialism: the list of Rémi Muzeau (Republicans-UDI-MoDem), substitute for Patrick Balkany in the National Assembly, won a resounding victory by winning 57.82% of the vote, far ahead of the Socialist Julien Perez (42.18%), former director of cabinet of outgoing mayor Gilles Catoire, who ran the city from 1985 and had decided not to represent after the cancellation of the vote in 2014.

The right has consolidated its supremacy in the Hauts-de-Seine, Paris suburbs Department that sees its last socialist bastion disappear.

“The vast majority of Clichois has placed its trust in the list Oxygen. I thank them from my heart,” responded the future mayor Clichois on Twitter.

After falling Gilles Catoire the departmental March, Rémi Muzeau has certainly benefited from a desire for change and the absence in this election of Didier Schuller, old hand in local politics, who dreamed of conquering Clichy after crossing the desert and conviction in a case of illegal financing of his political activity. The latter, with UDI candidate label in 2014, added the UMP and Modem notices on its posters and newsletters “potentially depriving the Voice Modem-UMP list Mr. Muzeau”, estimated the State Council to justify the cancellation poll
