30 million German viewers for France-Germany – lepopulaire.fr

 

(AFP) – About 30 million German viewers watched the semi-final of Euro-2016 against France, one of the largest audiences of the national television and a record for a European Football Championship , according to figures released Friday.

 

In all, the game won 2-0 by France attracted 29.82 million viewers, or 80.6% of market share.


 

 
 

 

 

 

 

 

It is the fourth largest of the most popular football events of the story in the first place, the World Cup final 2014, won 1-0 by the Mannschaft against Argentina and had met 34 57 million viewers (86.2% market share).

 

Thursday’s meeting in Marseille, broadcast from 19:00 GMT on ZDF public television, has totally eclipsed proposed programs elsewhere, leaving behind it a detective series broadcast on other public television ARD second hearing Thursday evening with only 2.4 million viewers (7.1% market share).

 

The semifinal Thursday also establishes a new audience record in Germany for a match of the Euro: the previous one was in 2008 when Germany defeated (3-2) Turkey, again semifinals (29.46 million viewers at the time, 81.5% of market share). The match was very followed at the time by this important Turkic community in Germany.
