France-UMP and PS want to fill up membership – Challenges.fr

PARIS, Dec. 13 (Reuters) – Socialist Party and the UMP Saturday showed their desire to refuel membership before the 2017 presidential if each giving aim to reach half a million activists.

The Socialist Party National Council was held in the National Assembly while the president of the UMP Nicolas Sarkozy met executives his new team.

“We must ensure that supporters of PS fall within the Socialist Party,” said the leader of the majority party, Jean-Christophe Cambadélis at a point Press transcribed on Twitter.

“I want to lower the price of membership so that there is no obstacle in a difficult economic time for membership in PS” has he added, indicating that a large national membership campaign over two years would be launched in January.

The president of the UMP Nicolas Sarkozy, who has appointed a management team in attempting to spare the sensitivities of the main opposition party, for its part, says it wants to rebuild “a militant party.”

“I want an army of militants,” he said on its Twitter account. “The more we are, the more our members will be representative of France as a whole.”

In this context, Laurent Wauquiez, secretary general of the UMP, will have to set goals for each federation contracts and a member of the national team members will receive the passage at the headquarters in particular. “Every month I receive personally the members of the previous month,” still promises Nicolas Sarkozy at Twitter.
