Two new female faces made their entry into the government of Manuel Valls Wednesday. The Socialist MEP Martine Pinville became Secretary of State for Trade, Crafts and Consumer Affairs. Her colleague Clotilde Valter for his part, was appointed Secretary of State for State Reform and Simplification, where she succeeds Thierry Mandon, who took over the portfolio of Higher Education and Research.

No gesture towards the left wing. A simple “technical adjustment” according to the terms of Manuel Valls. But not only. There still has a political message in this mini-reshuffle. First, no poaching in slingers Socialist Party François Hollande believes not having to give signs to the left that the critical incessantly. Do not move either for the faithful of Martine Aubry, who eventually rally to the motion supported by the executive. “Congress killed Aubry and 49-3 has gun slingers”, decrypts one of the friends of the head of state.

Two “Dutch” in line with the executive . Francois Hollande has chosen the faithful. Martine Pinville was at his side at Lorient in 2009, when he launched the presidential adventure and we called him “Mr. 3%” in reference to his then score in the polls. Valter Clotilde, she is a technocrat, a former near Lionel Jospin, with whom she worked at Matignon. Two elected fully in line, unknown to the general public, and thus accomplish their tasks quietly, without making waves.

The real reshuffle will come later. In the spirit President, the real reshuffle, the one to take him to the battle of 2017, will take place in January, after the regional elections. The challenge: to bring the Greens. No form of poaching, but through a real electoral agreement, to avoid at all costs the presence of an environmentalist candidate in the first round of presidential elections.
