Euro 2016: the Blues do not parade on the Champs Elysees in case of victory – Le Parisien

A N o parade is scheduled on the most beautiful avenue in the world, even if they win Blues in the final of Euro 2016, said the prefect of Paris Michel Cadot. Hard to believe that the city will organize anything to celebrate a fourth major title for the Blues if they beat the Portuguese, while the competition was held for a month in France.

The Prefect states that for practical reasons, “this is not possible, we can not consider letting the masses circulate Monday” on July 11 on the Champ Elysees. Yet eighteen years earlier, almost to the day, Didier Deschamps and his teammates triumphed at the World Cup 1998 and celebrated the win on a double-decker bus in the middle of 600,000 people on the eve of July 14. They pointed to the crowd, cheering from the day where a million and a half people came to celebrate the victory, the cup golden globe.

At the time, the players were escorted by four vehicles of the raid and 500 security officers, who were trying to make their way to the bus through the human tide. But they could not reach the Arc de Triomphe. Today, the procession should be further reinforced if the province were to change his mind, because the device already set up Sunday night, but also because of vigipirate plan.
