On the first 10 months of the year, the number of people killed on the roads is still higher than 0.8% to that recorded in the equivalent period of the previous year : 2.882 people have been killed in total, 22 more than in the same period last year.

After twelve years of decline, and France had seen in 2014 the number of people killed on the roads starting to increase again (3.384 dead, +3.5% compared to 2013), in 2015 (3.464 killed, +2.4% compared to 2014). The country had not recorded two consecutive years of increase in the number of road deaths in the past 35 years.
