Snow and ice: ten departments in orange alert – Clicanoo

in The aftermath of a “severe winter storm”, which has been a death in the South-East, the orange alert was ten departments: the Ardennes, Côte-d’or, Doubs, Jura, Haute-Marne, Meuse, Haute-Saône, Territoire-de-Belfort, Ain and Isère.

Weather France judged Saturday morning snowfall “broadly in line with forecasts”. They should continue until the end of the morning, with falls up to “10 to 15 cm on the trays” and “locally 40 cm in the mountains above 800 to 1,000 m”.

The passage of the named storm Egon has made Friday a death in Saint-Jeannet (Alpes-Maritimes), a woman, victim of a falling tree.

Friday night, about 35,000 households were without electricity, mostly in Normandy and in Picardy. At the height of the storm, more than 330,000 homes had been affected by the cuts.
