France numbered 65.9 million people in 2014 – The World

In metropolis, 23 departments exceed one million inhabitants, but only three – the North, Paris and the Bouches-du-Rhône, are above two million. The North is at the head of the departments, the most populous, with 2.6 million inhabitants. On the Lozère, it is the only department with less than 100,000 inhabitants. It has 80 400.
