SAVOIE 20 to 30 people set fire to a car and garbage cans…
The incidents began on the evening of Halloween. Four people were arrested Tuesday night in Chambéry, in the wake of scenes of urban violence involving 20 to 30 people aged 15 to 20 years in a neighbourhood in the north of the city, a-t-on learned from the prefecture of Savoie.
Around 18: 30, 20 to 30 people encagoulées have voluntarily gathered, and then set fire to containers with garbage containers at the foot of the buildings in Chambery-le-Haut, a popular district of the city. “Two or three small groups of young people have begun to sow the mess in the neighbourhood and put out the fire. Their main target was a cctv camera. No elements does not allow us to know why they acted thus,” said the mayor of the city Michel Dantin.
The police had taken control of the situation to 21: 30 after having strengthened their device and secure the area. This maneuver then allowed the fire brigade, for extinguishing fires.
Four people arrested
“The situation is remained in stand-by the time that the police be strengthened,” confirmed Nicolas Martrenchard, the sub-prefect of Albertville, confirming information of the Dauphiné Libéré. Four people have been arrested “thanks to the alert given by local residents”, said Michel Dantin.
Several trash cans and a vehicle had been intentionally burned down in the night of Monday to Tuesday by several persons masked, which had then greeted the firefighters by throwing projectiles. The Halloween night was also marked by incidents in the towns of Givors and Grigny, near Lyon. Several vehicles, and garbage, were burned, but no arrest had taken place.
