Laurence Rossignol, Minister for Families, Children and Women’s Rights, said Wednesday that the left would be committed during the presidential campaign in 2017 to open access to medically assisted procreation (MAP) to female couples and single women.
“I think (the subject) will be on the table” during the presidential campaign because “the associations will bring the issue of opening the LDCs female couples or single women” said Laurence Rossignol at issuance “info Questions” for LCP-France Info-World-AFP.
“I do not understand why it refuses to homosexuals”
“I have not changed my position,” she added. “As soon as medically assisted procreation, the use of artificial insemination, is open to heterosexual couples, I do not understand why it refuses to homosexual couples.”
The Minister said that “this is a debate that is still tight, so the presidential probably will legitimize the future president, for (the) do.”
“It there was a kind of injunction not to treat “the subject
when asked whether this project should be implemented in case of victory of the left, she replied: “yes, I think so.” “The left candidate, who will be a candidate in 2017 and elected in 2017, will undoubtedly this commitment.”
Laurence Rossignol explained that this had not been done during the current five-year, because after the law opening marriage and adoption to gay couples, the right had “a subject of conflict, while the French were broadly in favor, and suddenly there was a kind of injunction not to treat. ”
Another reason why “we have not done as much social reform that could or wanted to do, is that” when the economic situation is complicated (…) when you mentioned a matter of company you are accused of wanting to immediately divert attention from the French, “she said.
