Since the publication May 9 the first testimonies of women accusing him of harassment and sexual assault in a survey of Mediapart and France-Inter, Denis Baupin had not expressed publicly. In a long interview, to be published Thursday, June 2 in “Obs” and read in our subscribers area, it responds point by point to the allegations which it is subject and reflects on his relationship to women. What relationship do you have with women? How do you rate?
I will not deny that I have long been in the register of seduction and in a form of libertinism corresponding to the culture of environmentalists. I do not think it’s against the law.
Do not you sometimes feel they have crossed the line?
Is -what I could sometimes be awkward? Perhaps. Do I have thought that people would understand my approach while this was not the case and that they were not in the same spirit of libertarianism, it is possible. There could be situations of libertinism misunderstood. I am sincerely sorry. [...]

And the context has changed: it is no longer the libertine and post-sixty-huitarde time that reigned among environmentalists. Today, the eyes of society is less “open”.
Where do you set the limit between flirting and harassment?
For me, the harassment is when there is a will ‘force. When the answer is a clear and definitive, there is no doubt: “When it’s not, it’s not.” I always had the feeling of being respectful. [...]

They are thirteen. MP, elected local, collaborating … Women, mostly from EELV but not only, who do not know all and who, openly or not, have complained to Mediapart and France-Inter attitudes Denis Baupin to them: a gesture or a moved message, a series of SMS dredge or sexual nature, attempts to hug force under criminal aggression.
For most prescribed, these events occurred in the late 1990s and have lasted for the last until 2014. None has yet complained. After these revelations, the prosecutor opened an investigation and heard several alleged victims. Denis Baupin, he filed a complaint for defamation. The deputy of Paris, who resigned in April of EELV, had to leave the vice presidency of the Assembly.
