The fire started at 5:30 p.m. in a building adjoining the Souillac station town situated 140 km from Toulouse, according to firefighters, which indicate that 90 people and about thirty vehicles were mobilized at the scene. Approximately one third of the surface of the building of 1.000 m2 was destroyed, and firefighters feared spread of fire silos containing rapeseed and soybean dust, which can be explosive.

The station and its surroundings had previously been evacuated.

He eventually resumed on a path to 10 p.m., allowing the passage of six Intercity trains and night freight trains.
