Voter registration : at the end of the last line right – Franceinfo

It was the last day to register on electoral lists in order to be able to vote in 2017. To do this, we could still today get in some local councils, exceptionally open on this Saturday morning. Example in Vaulx-en-Velin, in the city of lyon.

The day will have been successful and the municipal staff that was today on the gap to accommodate the last to register on the electoral lists can claim to have accomplished a task very useful. In fact, no less than 80 people lined up at the counters of the state-civil of the city hall of Vaulx-en-Velin this morning. If one adds the 32 requests made by the internet (another way to register in addition to mail), it’s been more than a hundred people registered on the last day of the year.

Vaulx-en-Velin : 1982 registered since the 1st of January 2016

In a city that registers one of the highest turnover rates in its housing throughout the city of lyon, the doubt has come to hover over the reliability of the lists. Suddenly, since last September, the city council has undertaken an in-depth review. And to encourage people to register, a poster campaign was conducted. Letters were sent to people who were relocated in the year.
In 2016, the city has a 1982 new registered on the electoral lists. Of which almost half for the single month of December.
