A man aged 77 has a fatal fall on Monday afternoon in a steep part of the trail GR 9 in the Chartreuse mountains, was it announced Tuesday the pack mountain gendarmerie (PGHM) Isère.
The hiker, domiciled in the Grenoble area, walked with a group of friends on the west side of the tooth Crolles , a steep part of the GR 9, when it dropped for reasons as yet undetermined, according PGHM, confirming a report in the newspaper Dauphiné Libéré.
The man has fallen a hundred meters down the rocky slope. By helicopter Civil Security at the foot of the slope,
rescuers of PGHM could not save the hiker, who was declared dead on the spot.
