Juppe favorite right-wing candidate for the presidency – La Tribune.fr

While Nicolas Sarkozy is trying to impose its political line within the party “The Republicans” (LR) on the occasion of a national training council which ends this Sunday, a BVA poll published Saturday shows that Alain Juppé is still the heavy favorite to represent the right to run for president in 2017.

According to the study carried out for Orange and iTELE, 48% of supporters believe that the right of the mayor of Bordeaux would be the best LR candidate for president, against 20% for Nicolas Sarkozy and 11% for Francois Fillon and Bruno Le Maire.

Alain Juppe also well ahead of the former president of the only supporters LR (43% against 30% ).

They mostly believe that, in view of presidential elections, Alain Juppé would be more capable than Nicolas Sarkozy to gather the French (64% against 34%), to win the right (58% against 38%) and ultimately to improve the situation in France (62% against 36%), said BVA.

the picture capital of the former Prime Minister Jacques Chirac is also significantly stronger in public opinion: 63% of French say they have a good opinion of him, against 35% who have a bad, while Nicolas Sarkozy collects only 26% of positive opinions (against 73% negative)

83% of LR supporters have a good picture of Alain Juppé against 72% for Nicolas Sarkozy, who is also preceded by Bruno Le Maire (79%) and is on a par with François Fillon (71%).

the survey was conducted among a representative sample of 1,053 people aged 18 and over interviewed by telephone and via the internet 11 and 12 February.
