Parliament endorses the extension of the state of emergency – The World

the national Assembly adopted Tuesday, February 16 evening, the extension until May 26, the state of emergency by 212 votes against 31, with 3 abstentions. In a half-filled chamber, most Socialist deputies, the radical left, Republicans and voted for IDUs. While environmentalists are shared between for and against and the elected Left Front have almost all voted against. The measure had been introduced after the attacks in Paris and Saint-Denis on 13 November.

The vote is still less massive than November 19 during the first three-month extension, 551, 6 against and 1 abstention. Since the state of emergency was in place, the anti-terrorist center of Paris has received only five surveys. The 24 other proceedings under terrorist qualification target the offense of advocating terrorism

285 house arrest still valid

More than 3300 administrative searches were also conducted by the police. They allowed the seizure of weapons and resulted in 344 police custody and 65 convictions. Some 285 house arrest are still in force. Only 12 were suspended or canceled by the administrative court and 46 were repealed “spontaneously” by the Ministry, including those taken in the context of the COP21.
