PARIS (Reuters) – Bernadette Chirac believes that Nicolas Sarkozy should not run for president of the UMP, which is “more level” and remains convinced he will win the presidential election in 2017.
The political comeback of the former president, fought May 6, 2012 by François Hollande, is now a matter of days.
“I’m one of his soldiers, he needs soldiers,” said Friday the wife of former President Jacques Chirac on Europe 1.
“I am a soldier. It there will be many, many, many, and I am sure he will win, “said she continued, comparing Nicolas Sarkozy to Bonaparte.
Nicolas Sarkozy reportedly plans to compete for the presidency UMP, during the internal elections of 29 November to prepare his candidacy for the primary nomination for 2017.
“I see, and I’m not the only one that it should not take over the presidency of the UMP, “said Bernadette Chirac.
