Senators of the UMP ruling. Neither Jean-Pierre Raffarin, nor Philippe Marini will be president of the upper chamber.
The UMP candidate for the presidency will Gérard Larcher. It thus has a good chance of being elected, the group is in the majority.
On Tuesday afternoon, Senator Yvelines was elected 80 votes against 56 for Raffarin, and 7 at
Marini the inner primary. 
Gérard Larcher therefore present on Wednesday as president of the upper house, where he has held the “plateau” from 2008 to 2011
Earlier the day, François Laval Zocchetto (IDU), and environmentalist Jean-Vincent Place were also nominees.
