The two departments in corsica that have been placed in vigilance orange rain-flood from Monday 14h, announced Météo-France.

An episode return storm storm intense is expected to reach the island and more specifically its eastern façade in the beginning of the week. Precipitation should intensify during the evening and especially on the night of Monday to Tuesday, and continue at least until Tuesday evening.

100 to 200 mm are expected on the eastern facade of the island. Precipitation can locally reach 200 to 300 mm on the reliefs.

A strong east wind that can exceed 100 km/h is also expected on the areas of relief and the ends of the island.

On the continent, Météo-France provides a wind from the east-northeast, blowing a gale on the coast from Monday afternoon. The gusts will reach locally 80 to 100 km/h in the interior of the department including the areas of relief.

The coast will be particularly affected by the strong wind with gusts that can reach 100 to 120 km/h wind will result in places of high waves. The wind does not weaken the Var that Tuesday afternoon.
