The Christmas bonus will be paid this week to more than 2.5 million people – The Figaro

The minister of Health, Marisol Touraine, has announced a renewal of this bonus for people with modest incomes.

It should arrive just in time for the last Christmas shopping. The Christmas bonus will be paid “this week”, assured the minister of Health, Marisol Touraine said in an interview to West France on Tuesday. “The Christmas bonus is of course renewed. It is a boost for the more modest, a few days before the holidays,” explains the minister. In total, more than 2.5 million people are expected to benefit.

This premium, paid in December of each year since 1998, the beneficiary of the income of active solidarity (RSA), provided that the household resources do not exceed the amount of the RSA base corresponding to the composition of the family. It is also perceived by the beneficiaries of the allowance of specific solidarity (ASS), the allowance equivalent retraite (AER), the premium transitional solidarity (PTS) and the flat-rate premium monthly activity recovery.

the amount varies, depending of the allowance is affected and the composition of the household. It has not evolved compared to 2015, announcement, Marisol Touraine. For RSA beneficiaries, living alone and without children, the premium will reach so 152,45 euros. A person to the RSA raising only her child will 228,67 euros while a couple in RSA with two children will receive 320,14 euros.

Those who receive another benefit that the RSA (SSA, EIA, the PTS or the flat-rate premium in case of resumption of activity) will receive a bonus whose amount is fixed regardless of the number of persons in the household, or 152,45 euros.

As pointed out by the minister, “there is no particular approach is required: the payment will be made automatically by bank transfer this week”. The Christmas bonus will be paid by the family allowance Fund (CAF) or Pôle emploi according to the situation.

If the amount of the premium does not increase, “it is paid this year to more people. It is an additional commitment by the State for a total cost of 500 million euros,” says Marisol Touraine. According to the minister, “the government continues to pursue its commitment in favour of the more modest ones, after the revaluation of 2% of the RSA in September, the expansion of universal health Coverage complementary (CMU-C) and of aid to complementary health (ACS). Not to mention the creation of the premium of activity, which enjoys today more than 2.3 million homes, of which some 500,000 young people”.
