Seven years after the start of the Kerviel affair, new revelations have revived suspicion about possible knowledge by the General Society of actions of the former trader.
According to Mediapart, Police Commander, who led the investigation into the loss of € 4.9 billion reported in January 2008 by the group, said, recently a judge that part of the hierarchy of Societe Generale “could not ignore” the actions of the former trader.
These developments seem to motivate the decision of Jerome Kerviel’s lawyer, David Koubbi request a retrial. Specifically, the former trader seized last week, the Commission investigating the Court to review and reconsideration to challenge his criminal conviction to five years of imprisonment, of which three farm, which became final in March 2014.
