The syrian regime has stepped up air raids against rebels and jihadists, in particular, in the north of the country, at the approach of peace negotiations, including the holding on the 23rd of January has been confirmed by Moscow.

These bombings are carried out while a truce that came into force on 30 December by Russia, an ally of the regime, and Turkey, which supports rebel groups, is still formally in force, despite the daily violations.

“The military aircraft of the regime have intensified their strikes in the province of Aleppo after midnight,” reported Wednesday the OSDH, noting that several cities and towns had been targeted, including Atareb and Khan al-Assal, the strongholds of the rebellion.

An AFP journalist heard of intense airstrikes in the west of the province of Aleppo, where Atareb.

A correspondent of the AFP has seen the building completely collapsed at Taftanaz. White Helmets, rescue workers in the area rebel, have spent hours to clear the rubble using pickaxes and hammers hammering.

The Observatory also reported air strikes on several villages in the Ghouta eastern rebel stronghold in the province of Damascus.

This region, covered by artillery fire and sporadic, has been the target of the air force for the first time since the truce, according to the OSDH.

The main front remains the region’s rebel Wadi Barada, 15 km from Damascus, where the main sources of water supply of the capital and that the regime tries to capture since December 20.

The two groups jihadists in Syria Front, Fateh al-Sham and the organization islamic State (EI), are excluded from the agreement of truce sponsored by Ankara and Istanbul.

The troops, loyalists have continued their offensive in spite of the establishment of the truce, saying that Fateh al-Sham was in Wadi Barada, what put paid to the rebels.

The plan was sent on Tuesday of new reinforcements in this region, according to the OSDH, which reported Wednesday, as new fighting and bombing.

The governorate of the province of Damascus announced on Wednesday that an agreement had been reached with the rebels to send in “the next hours” technicians repair facilities in Ain al-Fijé, one of the main sources of water. A previous agreement had not resulted.

last week, the head of the diplomacy of the Turkish Mevlut Cavusoglu warned that “violations increasing for a cease-fire could threaten the peace talks planned in Astana.

But a diplomatic source Russian Wednesday confirmed to AFP that the talks sponsored by Russia, Iran, who is also an ally of the regime in Damascus, and Turkey could well take place on 23 January in the capital of Kazakhstan.

“For the time being, there is no information on a report of this meeting. To this day, the 23rd of January remains in force,” said this source.

The list of participants in the discussions is being formed, added the source.

The negotiations in Astana must precede talks intersyriens on 8 February in Geneva under the auspices of the UN.

None of the previous discussions intersyriennes has not, however, permit an early resolution of the conflict, which actually has more of 310,000 people dead and millions of refugees and displaced persons since 2011.
