The weather on Tuesday, January 17 : the cold even more bright – Europe1

The cold will be even more bright Tuesday on the Hexagon while Corsica will face a time of particularly unstable. In Corsica, a northeast wind will blow strong, up to 90 to 110 km/h on the terrain and the ribs exposed, with giboulées locally heavy rain, warns Météo France. These will give rise to rainfall on the eastern part of the island, with snow to very low altitude, or even in a plain. Vigilance orange snow has been decided for the island. Large, sunny spells will develop over the rest of the mediterranean basin. The tramontana and the mistral blow at speeds ranging from 80 to 100 km/h in the Languedoc-Roussillon in the Rhone valley.

Alert to the flooding in the South-West. On the major part of the country, however, conditions will be calmer. Near the Pyrenees and the Massif Central to the Alps in the north and to the borders of germany, the sky will be predominantly cloudy. The vertices will be generated but below 1,500 m, the skies will be more crowded and there will be falls of snow scattered. In the South-West, a vigilance orange avalanche has been issued in respect of four departments : the Ariège, Haute Garonne, Hautes Pyrenees and Pyrenees Atlantiques. Vigilance orange flood has been decided for this last department, particularly to the basin of the Nive. Except in the morning on the tip of brittany, the weather will be mostly sunny everywhere else but very cold.

A mercury-in the negative. on the coast of Corsica, on the tip of brittany and the Cotentin, where the minimum will vary from 1 to 4 degrees, heavy frosts are expected in the eastern half with temperatures between -5 and -10 degrees, -1 and -5 otherwise. During the day, it will be 3 to 7 degrees on the atlantic coast and the Languedoc-Roussillon, around 8 to 9 degrees on the Côte d’azur. Elsewhere from west to east, it will be between 0 and -3 degrees on the North-East and near the Alps, 1 to 3 in the West. The bise from the north-is sensitive, in particular in the North-East at the Centre, will enhance significantly the impression of cold.
