Approximately 5,000 homes were without electricity in the middle of the Sunday morning, due to snow, which affect the Corsican, placed in vigilance orange, said EDF, who expects to “other disturbances” if conditions deteriorate. “The coming of degradation of the weather conditions, as announced, would presumably lead to other disruptions in the supply of electricity with in the afternoon strong wind in addition to snow and violent rains that we have already known,” says EDF.

“It is not in temperatures that are exceptional,” says Patrick Galois, forecaster with Météo-France. “We can talk about the cold wave of moderate intensity, a good shot of cold”.
