Vigilance orange storms in nine southwestern departments – The World

The departments of Ariege, Aveyron, Haute-Garonne, Lot, Tarn, Tarn-et-Garonne, Corrèze, Pyrénées-Atlantiques and Hautes-Pyrénées were placed Sunday, April 26 in amber alert to “storms and flooding rains,” by Météo France. The alert remains in effect until Monday 7:00.

This episode is accompanied “a high risk of heavy hailstorms and, more ad hoc, wind gusts reaching 70 km / h “, the agency warned in its bulletin. It may fall “occasionally up to 100 millimeters accumulation” . Severe thunderstorms are also likely “locally cause significant damage” .
