From the east of France in the Austrian Tyrol through southern Germany, many Europeans who have seen pass a meteorite in the evening of 15 March. In the press of different countries, witnesses describe a green trail, brilliant, visible for a few seconds and sometimes the sound of a violent explosion.
In the evening, around 20:50, the fireball would have been seen for a while. On the website of Swiss newspaper Le Matin , witnesses evoke such a light worthy of a sunny day, “ a flash, like a thunderbolt ” explaining also fearing a plane crash nearby.
Everywhere, authorities received many people worried about phone calls of such an occurrence. Yet the fall of the celestial body would not cause damage , it disintegrated in the air, with the approach of the Earth.
According to one expert, told the Germans from The Local , this type of star usually begins to destroy itself to a hundred kilometers from the ground. One of 15 March have caused awesome sound , approaching enough of the Earth, to about twenty kilometers, a very rare phenomenon .
Every day, hundreds of variable size meteorites enter the Earth’s atmosphere, but they are rarely as visible. During the same evening, the passage of another celestial body has been immortalized by a lucky photographer, above the Loch Ness , Scotland this time.
