On May 14, 2012, Youssef Ettaoujar was arrested with two accomplices at the counter of the airport of Saint-Etienne ( Loire), while the trio was preparing to fly to Turkey. March 7, 2014 sentenced to four years in prison, the Franco-Moroccan free since last October, was again arrested Wednesday morning by investigators from the Directorate General of Internal Security (RPS). Investigators seeking whether he intended to engage in the “violent actions in France” and if he could “be in touch with people in Syria belonging to the Islamic State (EI)” indicated the interior minister, Bernard Cazeneuve, after his arrest.
