France: risk of thunderstorms in the southwest quarter – Le Figaro

Severe thunderstorms are expected to fall on several departments in the southwest of France. According to Meteo Consult, very strong winds and accumulations of significant rain in just a few hours and are expected, with strong currents between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean and the Cevennes. The intensity of rainfall could cause localized flooding.

For its part, Meteo France speaks of “a very unusual rain-storm episode for the season.” The institute has placed eighteen departments of a large quarter southwestern France in orange alert for thunderstorms, wind and rain-flood from 11:00 p.m. this evening and until 14:00 tomorrow. It also warns of strong winds on the coastal area from the Charente Maritime in the Basque Country, in the second part of the night
