Four people died and 14 others were injured, after the collapse of a balcony in a building of Angers on Saturday night, a-t-on learned from the prefecture of Maine-et-Loire. Some are injured “seriously” but no one is in danger of death. “It was an emergency, but these are people whose vital prognosis is not engaged”, said on BFMTV Michel Pichon, director of the guard at the CHU of Angers.
As for the victims, “these are young people of Angers, but also of the department, and the region”, adds Michel Pichon. A couple of people are mobilized by the CHU on the event. A cell of the host families has been put in place.

According to the first elements of the investigation, these young people were on the balcony, located on the third floor of the building, when the accident occurred, shortly before midnight. They were celebrating a housewarming. The balcony collapsed due to a cause yet unknown, resulting in the balconies of the two lower floors, which were empty. An important safety device has been deployed around the building, located in the central city of the prefecture of Maine-et-Loire. 70 firefighters responded, as well as cell rescue, clearing of Saumur.
